Your Journey Isn't Just Normal Lets Get You Back To Your Best!
A Psychotherapist can help you work through difficult situations and emotions. But if you’re new to therapy, you might have a lot of questions. For instance, you may wonder, “How do I open up and tell my therapist what I really feel? Do I tell-my-therapist-everything?” or “Will my therapist think I’m ‘crazy’ or a lost cause?” It’s important to know that therapy is a judgement-free space. Therapists are trained to help you identify patterns in your life (good and bad), help you address issues you might be avoiding (in your own time), and to be a good listener. Sometimes, having someone to talk to who isn’t part of our regular circles can be empowering—we can get things off our chest, try out some thoughts on someone else and receive neutral (and professional) feedback.
On your first visit we will complete a psychosocial assessment to determine your treatment needs.
A psychosocial assessment is an evaluation of a patient’s mental, physical, and emotional health. It analyzes aspects of a patient’s life such as upbringing, history of trauma, substance use history and criminal history, while also assessing the patient’s perception of self and his or her ability to function in the community.
Based on the information gathered during your psychosocial assessment we will determine a treatment approach and assist you with developing a plan that will help you reach your desired goals. Accordingly, we may recommend the following services: individual, family or couples therapy.
